Welcome to Don’t Cross The Streams.
Very important safety tip
My name is Ryotaro Aoki. I’m a musician and writer based in Japan. I’ve played in a few bands and in venues all over Tokyo, and I frequently go to shows and keep myself involved in the music scene here.
Aside from playing music myself, I contribute to several publications, most frequently The Japan Times’ music page, as well as a few others, writing mostly about the Japanese music scene and industry, along with some other bits here and there about film and anime and culture in general.
This blog originally started out as a hub for my random thoughts about the music scene in Japan, but it has since evolved to be an archive of all my writing work. While the main purpose of this site is to house all my articles under one roof, you’ll occasionally see a post here and there about current, relevant topics that catch my attention.
Please also visit my main site, Parallelogram, which is essentially the mothership of all my operations. If you want to reach out, feel free to leave a message or contact me via the other site.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy your stay.
